The Hi-Way Team:
Dave Long - Sales Manager: Dave has been working the front of the shop since 2000, so there's not much he can't help you with. Dave competes in downhill & cross-country racing and he likes to ride Trail bikes as well. Always good for a laugh and a yarn.
Miikael Kinnunen - Owner and Chief Mechanic: Miik started his working career at Hi-Way back in 1998 straight from high school. He's probably the best mechanic in the west. What others send interstate, he fixes right here in the shop. Mick is a multiple Downhill State Champion and also competes in cross-country and rides BMX. He also competes in World Cup events. Mick is very active in the organising and running of Downhill events.
Joel Bain - Junior Mechanic (in his spare time): Joel travels overseas to compete in Norba World Cup and World Championship events. He is a good chance for Junior World Champ for 2007
Irma - Part-time Boss (to keep the boys in line): Totally a leisure rider.
Hi-Way, our Racing Team and sponsorship
Hi-Way Cycles has always been heavily invloved in sponsoring our own team riders and we have sponsored riders in Downhill, Cross-Country and BMX disciplines. We have some great names in our past and current riders list such as Sam Hill & John Waddell.
We try and have as much presence at the events as possible so look out for our team riders in all classes. We also have a great pit set-up which includes the Hi-Way van and quickshade tent. There's a pressure washer for all those muddy races so if you're a Hi-Way Cycles customer be sure to drop by and say hi and get your bike nice and clean for your next run.
In addition to sponsoring our team riders we support the sport too. From one-off events like the Gravity Games and MTBA National MTB events to the WA State series we mak a point of supporting the sport. 2007 marks the 10 year anniversary of our "Hi-Way Cycles Cup". What started as a stand alone event has now become part of the WA state series and is the premier event of the year.
